Spring Webinar Series! UN Goals, Circular Economy, Carbon Neutrality, and more..

DataSolutions, in association with Techies Go Green, is delighted to be launching its Spring Webinar Series.

At the end of 2021, we began an array of educational webinars focused on supporting businesses in a bid to become more sustainable. The Autumn Webinar Series had plenty of high profile guest speakers, covering topics that are impacting businesses right now, such as:

  • Designing for Sustainability: A Journey from Desire to Capability” with Robert O’Mahony - Head of Sustainability, Global Operations, Logitech

  • An introduction to the Biodiversity Crisis and Why it Matters” with Catherine Bryan, Partner, Kingsdale Head Farm LLP

  • What Zero Carbon Means For Business” with Jonathan Withey, Head of Business Development, PlanetMark

  • Net Zero Carbon and Scope 3” with Dr. Stephen Finnegan, Managing Director, Arete Zero Carbon and Katrina Quinn, Global Partner Manager, Vyta.

Climate change is something that impacts all of us, societies, and economies across the globe. If we are to truly suppress the worst effects of it, action is needed from all of us, governments and enterprises alike. Many businesses large and small now recognise how important the coming years will be in addressing the climate change and biodiversity crisis but are sometimes challenged on where to start.

We’re delighted now to launch our next series of webinars: Spring Webinar Series. The main aim of our four-part Techies Go Green Spring webinar series is to enable our signatories and wider IT community to develop and deepen their knowledge and understanding of the practical actions they can take to start their sustainability journey. The sessions will include guest presentations by sector and climate experts, ‘peer-to-peer’ case studies from leading companies, and Q&A.

Moderated by Francis O’Haire, Group Director of Technology, DataSolutions, hear from a diverse range of speakers who are committed to reversing climate change through innovative thinking.

3. The Role We all Play to Ensure the IT Channel becomes More Sustainable: Vendors, Partners & Distributors

15th June 2022 @ 10am

We're excited to announce that the next episode in our Spring Webinar Series is coming up on Wednesday, the 15th of June @ 10am: The Role We all Play to Ensure the IT Channel becomes More Sustainable: Vendors, Partners & Distributors.

We're going to be joined by three of the world's leading IT vendors Microsoft, IGEL and Citrix, discussing how they are fostering sustainable behaviour among their distributors and reseller partners. No layer of the channel can solve the sustainability conundrum by itself. Channel partners need their vendor allies to increase the pace of innovation, but vendors must also foster sustainable behaviour among their distributors and resellers as channel partners and end users look to their vendors to set the pace on sustainability. In 2021 we did a survey in conjunction with CRN and asked both the reseller channel & End users the question “are your vendor partners doing enough to make their technology more sustainable? 27% of partners and 29% of end users agreed with this statement meaning the rest either disagreed or were sitting on the fence which is not very positive. Furthermore 60% of channel partners surveyed would be fully supportive of vendors introducing rebates and financial incentives for partners that have firm plans to become more sustainable.
