appCURE: The “ChatGPT” for Application Management

Digital transformation is all around us - from electric cars to washing machines, everything has a microchip or some form of AI. The release of ChatGPT AI really shows what can be accomplished, by simply using free text to ask a question.

Maybe I should have consulted it to write this blog for me? It seems it has the potential to take over some of the research tasks required.

With such changes in technology, where does that leave some of the applications that have been in use in our businesses for many years? As we look to modernise our user experience and access these applications from current supported operating systems like Windows 10 & 11 single or multiuser, we find that they just won’t work.

First thing in our discovery that we often find is there may not be installation media or they have no instructions on how to install these apps, as it’s been running on the same PC for years. It may have been an inhouse custom app that is no longer maintained, but is critical to a small portion of the business often too costly or time consuming to rewrite. It could also be that it is part of another larger project that may be a year or two from completion.

appCure could be the answer

If you, like many other businesses find yourself with this dilemma, take a look at appCURE. Similar to ChatGPT which scans the internet to provide you with a solution, appCURE can scan the device running the software and create a package that can be ported to any number of package distribution models, and can now be delivered to your new operating system.

Let’s take a look at appCURE in a little more detail and discover how it can help you get through some of those obstacles migrating older applications to a modern secure operating system.

So, what or who is appCURE?

appCURE is a platform that allows you to capture, update and transform your applications and bring them to any modern secure digital platform, on physical, virtual or cloud infrastructure.

This allows you to deliver your digital transformation project and bring those older apps to the new ecosystem. It doesn’t just stop there, it also enables you to deliver all your apps using the same technology, limiting the toolset required in your app transformation journey.

Taking it to the next step, it enables you to consistently monitor the state of these applications ensuring consistency and giving you the ability to remediate errors.

Using appCURE’s unique ‘on disk capture’ capability, we no longer need to have the installation media. appCURE will do a deep scan on the device running the application to ensure it creates a complete picture of every piece of code the application interacts with, spinning out multiple packaging options. It does this whether it’s the new Microsoft standard MSIX, or more traditional MSI, also supporting VMware App Volumes and others.

The seamless experience for end users

So we have our new packages, ready and compatible with any modern operating system. Now, we can look at any of the delivery methods to ensure the end user has a seamless experience when connecting to their device operating system. This also includes their Citrix Desktop or Cloud PC in Azure. You can be confident appCURE will enable this transition seamlessly.

Citrix have announced the availability and support of MSIX Microsoft’s latest gold standard of packing apps. Within Citrix DaaS, you can now publish an MSIX package using the same workflow as any other package, to enable end users to take full advantage of MSIX.

Combining both technologies enables companies to complete their digital transformation of all their applications. You will be able to continue running on supported operating systems, providing a seamless user experience from any location on any device, while also keeping your data secure.
